Finger Sprains

What is a Sprained Finger?

A sprained finger or thumb is a tear of the ligaments that hold the bones together (ligaments hold bone to bone - tendons hold muscle to bone).

You can "sprain" a ligament, but you would "strain" a tendon. Some tears in the ligaments can be minuscule, while other are severe.

Sprains are very common in action and impact sports, like basketball, volleyball and football. Gymnasts suffer from finger sprains on a regular basis. Putting out your hand to break a fall can easily sprain a finger or two.

    Treating Finger & Thumb Sprains:

Sometimes it is hard to tell if you just sprained your fingers or actually broke a bone. Reduce the initial pain and swelling with ice packs. Give you hand and fingers a rest.

Getting circulation to any ligament is more difficult than to a muscle as there are fewer blood vessels and capillaries to the ligaments. Far Infrared energy rays help to promote circulation and blood flow.

We recommend wearing FIR gloves, as soon as possible, to help reduce swelling and pain in the torn ligament.

The threads in Infrared Gloves are fused with a safe formula of bio-ceramics that emit beneficial far infrared rays (FIR). These safe waves of soothing FIR energy penetrate deep into the tissues of your fingers, helping to heal the ligament affected in a finger sprain faster by increasing the molecular activity of the cells.

The stimulation of the tiny capillaries and veins in your fingers and hands dilate the cells and allow fresh oxygenated blood containing vital nutrients to reach the stressed areas. Better circulation to the skin means better overall health of your fingers.
